1. The Highest Point in Moldova

The highest point in the Republic of Moldova is 428 meters above sea level.  This is located near the village of Balanesti, among agricultural fields and the Codru forest.  After driving 1 hour from Chisinau, we reach the starting point.  From there, the path winds along the forest edge, on improvised roads and trails, towards the village of Cabaesti.  When we reach the highest point, you will find geodesic ruins surrounded by two massive mobile phone antennae.

Afterwards, we will cross fields and the forest, ultimately arriving at the springs of the river Bic.  This river also crosses the capital city Chisinau, and years ago, was navigable by large merchant paddle boats.
